1- Although his name is not mentioned in the dialogue, the Englishman who confronts Arthur at the gate of the Wayne mansion is Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne/Batman’s butler confidant.
2- The scene where Joker dances on the stairs was taken at 1165 Shakespeare Avenue, in the Bronx, New York. After the film was released, the address became a tourist spot.
3- It is Joaquin Phoenix’s first role taken from a comic book. Previously, he gave up playing the title character in Doctor Strange (2016) and taking Mark Ruffalo’s place with Bruce Banner/Hulk in “The Avengers”.
4- Joaquin Phoenix disagrees that Joker is a tormented character. For him, Joker is “joy, it’s the struggle to find happiness and feel connected. He was so many different things to me at different times and the more unpredictable he was, the more inspiring.”
5- According to Phoenix, the most difficult part of playing the character was finding and perfecting the Joker’s ideal laugh.
