After seeing his first three films, Dutch productions, Ridley Scott was so impressed by Rutger Hauer’s charisma and talent that he hired him remotely for Blade Runner , without even meeting him.

Rutger Hauer recounts in his autobiography All Those Moments that when the day came for him to meet the director, he wanted to play a little joke on him…
Knowing that he had already been hired, he thought it would be fun to give Ridley Scott a little surprise.
So he showed up to the meeting wearing huge apple-green glasses, pink satin pants, and a white sweater on his skin, on which was printed the image of a fox.
Ridley Scott would have turned white when he saw Hauer arrive like that.
(We can say that the joke has aged quite badly…)
