When Liam Neeson received the script for Taken , he thought it was a small project. He agreed to do the film because it was well paid, but he had no illusions about it.

In an interview with 60 Minutes , he said:
“It was a really simple little story. I didn’t find anything complex about it. It’s a guy determined to find his daughter. He goes looking for her, and then, boom, he finds her. And, boom, he kills a bunch of bad guys…
I was convinced it would go nowhere, that it would come out straight to video.”
$226 million later, Liam Neeson becomes the new action movie headliner in Hollywood and his career gets a second wind.
Not necessarily what he was hoping for… but when you’re still a Hollywood headliner at over 65, that’s already pretty good.
